New Band of Horses Video

Band of Horses' 2007 Cease to Begin was one of my favorite albums of last year (top 20ish) and here is their latest video, this time for the track "No One's Gonna Love You." Sadly, they don't have much for dates in the States (i.e. none), so if you missed them when they were at Toad's Place a few months ago then you're out of luck.

Wait, I've Heard That Before

I do this from time to time. I hear a song and swear that I've heard it somewhere else. Sometimes I can't quite match the two songs together, but sometimes I nail it. This blog is a perfect medium to chronicle this revelation.

Band of Horses' second full-length comes out this coming Tuesday. The album, titled Cease to Exist, is an amazing follow-up album and I recommend it to everyone who loved their first and anyone who has yet to hear the band. Anyways, please check out their MySpace page and listen to a song off the album called "Detlef Schrempf." Yes, it is named after the Sonic's basketball star.

Now, after you've soaked that in--especially the piano--take a quick listen to a song by the Littlest Man Band called "Wrong Bed." That link should bring you up their discography, where you can click "Listen Now" and skip through the samples of the album--"Wrong Bed" is number eight. Now it is a shame you only get to hear a sample, but you should be able to get enough.

How similar is that? Now I'm not going to cry party foul on Band of Horses part since it is a pretty simple piano line, but just noting. "Wrong Bed" appears on Littlest Man Band's Better Book Ends, a pretty good album that came out in 2004. And for those of you who don't know, Scott Klopfenstein is the lead man for Littlest Man Band and also a long time, big part of Reel Big Fish.
