Dark Meat in New Haven on Thursday

Another recent Vice Records signing will be at Two Boots (277 Fairfield Ave.) in Bridgeport on April 10 with Monotonix. That signing would be Dark Meat. The psych-rock band consisting of about six thousand members, or a still lofty 17.

There's also a few things you need to know about today. Tonight is night two of the band's kick off for their big tour. If you happen to be in Brooklyn you can find them at Union Pool. Today also marks the rerelease of Universal Indians with a few live tracks tacked on. Finally, if you want to get a sneak at Monotonix they will be in Danbury tonight at Larry's on Elm St.

Amazon's product description of Universal Indians actually does a fantastic job:
"Imagine the Stooges meeting Crazy Horse with killer marching band horns, wailing gospel backing vocals, ripping Eddie Hazel guitar leads, and Albert Ayler free jazz freakouts. Athens' Dark Meat, a 17-piece hippie rock fest featuring double drums, boundless guitars, massive horns, strings, and ensemble voices, has been giving earth-shaking performances all over the south for the last three years."

Quick update on Righteous Kill

A couple bits of news I've heard throughout the day.

Jim Jones (of Dipset and most popularly known for his hit "We Fly High") makes an appearance in Righteous Kill. Jones actually performs
in the club scene that was filmed today in Bridgeport at the old Mechanics & Farmers Bank on Main Street. I have no idea which song he performs, however.

It has been confirmed that 50 Cent, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were all on set today.

The filming is currently still going on. If more develops I'll let you know.

Pacino and De Niro Flick Hitting Bridgeport Again Today

Yes, that is right, Connecticut will serve as the site for some of the filming of the new thriller Righteous Kill starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and 50 Cent. Just last week they did some filming at Bridgeport Hospital and a nearby church. Last month they were spotted filming in Milford. Today's filming (which is going on now) is at an undisclosed location. The casting company does have some details, but mainly discusses where the extras should be and what they should be wearing:

"For wardrobe: Think URBAN FABULOUS! We want to see nice colors. It is summer time. Women can wear halter tops; guys can wear nice tees, nice shirts, nice designer, fitting jeans. Hip Hop clothing. Remember, this is a hot club, dress the part. Women should come with hair and make already done, accessorize with jewelry and heals or pumps, women, feel free to show some skin with your wardrobe!"

The filming is supposed to take place at a Bridgeport club. I'll post news as I hear it.
