Benefit Concert for Manic Mike
There will be a benefit/tribute concert in memory of the late Mike McDonald, formerly of Manic Productions, next Tuesday, Dec. 16 at The Space in Hamden, Conn. Ted Leo and friends will be there at Mark's request and all benefits will go the The Yale Cancer Center in Mike's name. Entrance fee is a $5 donation or more.
From Manic Mark Nussbaum:
Mike McDonald was an integral part of Manic Productions, as well as a dear, close friend. In 2004, he booked Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, one of his favorite bands. In memory of Mike and all that he meant to us, we've asked Ted Leo to come back and play a show for Mike, with proceeds going to the charity of the Mcdonald family's choice. Also, Steinbeck will be playing.
Thanks so much for all your help.

(the rest of) July in Connecticut: Shows
UPDATED 7/13: Check below for additional information on venues and openers. New dates have been added.
We’ve already talked about Elf Power playing tonight at The Space in Hamden, Conn. for $12., but this weekend will also see Wye Oak with El Olio Wolof as a free performance at BAR’s tropolis in New Haven tomorrow night, Sunday, July 13. I think it will be a mellow, but pleasant night at BAR and certainly perfect Sunday music. Tall Firs will make an appearance there on the 27th.
Manic Productions presents Deerhoof at the Heirloom Arts Theatre on Wednesday, July 16th at 8 p.m. if you have $12. Also, The Mae Shi (not "The Mae Shit" that has been posted on our calendar for some time now –sorry) are playing the Theatre on Thursday, July 17 for $8. Fat Worm of Error are opening. It's an all-ages show, 21+ to drink.
