Quiet Life will be playing the Oasis Pub tonight in New London and their performance will to be dedicated to Phil Agins, who died Monday.
The Day in New London did a great article this morning about Agins' death and what he meant to a "small but fertile" music scene in the town.
The Oasis Pub recently said this about tonight's show:
"As you may have already heard, we here in the New London music scene have experienced great loss in the passing of Phil 'Royale' Agins... one of the most talented and humorous musicians and friends we have ever come across.
Tonight's Quiet Life show at the Oasis Pub will be dedicated to the memory of Phil who, at one time, played bass for the band. The band will be joined by Rob Jensen and Craig Edwards, both friends and musicians who've played with Phil in various forms. We will also be collecting money to purchase Phil's two favorite guitars and bury them with him on Saturday.
This is a very bittersweet event. Many of us remember Phil and are sad that he is gone, but we hope to celebrate his life tonight through music, an art form that Phil has communicated with for so many years and done so well."
Connecticut College's radio station, WCNI 90.9, will host members of Quiet Life and Justin Townes Earle, who is also playing tonight's show. There will be a few live songs and some tracks dedicated to Phil. Listen in from 3 to 6 p.m.
