... And has been for a few days, actually since May 13th. It must have been one of those things, like in the album reviews page at The Recorder, where an album will leak months in advance, we all get excited and then forget about the actual release date. The important part is that we all get excited.
For their first album since 2006, The Submarines present Honeysuckle Weeks including some tracks dripping with summer sweetness like "Swimming Pool." It's unfortunate that the track isn't posted on their MySpace, but others such as "Brightest Hour" and "You, Me and the Bourgeoisie" (singles) are.
As Jamie said a while ago, this will probably become a "summer album," and it has a sugary pop appeal like Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's Pershing.
The Submarines will also be making appearances in the area on May 27, 28 at Northampton and Boston, Mass., respectively (check the sidebar for times and places) as well as New York City and Brooklyn on the 29th and 30th.
