It may be a bit early to talk about King Khan and the Shrines coming to New Haven, but it is just the right time to talk about them signing to Vice Records. The news broke today and with that followed the announcement of the band's first release on their new label.
It will be called The Supreme Genius of King Khan and the Shrines and contains songs from throughout the band's career. You can grab it on June 17. Plenty of time still before their August 1 show at Cafe Nine in New Haven. We'll be sure to remind you of it when it comes closer to the date, but just so you know.
Don't forget their April 18 release on Hazelwood either. What I assume is their last release on that label (unless Vice is just US), anyways, I'm sure Amazon or whatever will have it available.
