Tegan & Sara on the Tonight Show, New EP & New Song

Tons of Tegan and Sara news for you today.

They will be performing tonight on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno [obligatory Leno sucks here].

If you happened to miss it when the two came through Northampton not too long ago then you can sort of make it up by buying their iTunes Live Session EP, which will be out on the 29th. The EP consists of acoustic takes of "The Con," "Nineteen," "Back in Your Head" and "Burn Your Life Down" off their latest album, The Con. And one track, "Where Does the Good Go?," off So Jealous.

Finally, Tegan did a solo track for the new Auguston Burroughs' book, A Wolf at the Table. She will be featured on the audio book version, which will be in stores (along with the old-fashioned version) on the 29th. You can listen to "His Love" on Burroughs' Web site now (just skip to the second track).

Tegan had this to say about it on her MySpace blog:
"Augusten sent me the book a few months ago and asked me to write something for the audio version of the book. He was thinking of using the music from the artists who participated to sort of score the reading of the book. I of course thought this was an amazing idea and said yes!!! yes!!! yes!!! I am a huge fan of Augusten and have been reading his books for years. Usually it takes me a day or two to complete a song but in this case I worked on it for almost 10 days! The lyrics were so difficult for me to write and so I wrote a letter to Augusten asking him questions about the book and his life and in the end I used a lot of the letter to write the actual song."

A fairly big Tuesday for Tegan next week.
