New York-based band White Rabbits has recently released a track from their currently untitled album for 2008. The song "Cotillion Blues" is featured on and can be streamed at RCRD LBL.com.
It's rumored that the band will be getting serious about writing soon now that their touring is coming to a close and they'll be back in NYC. right now it looks like they've got two songs out for testing. Singer/pianist Steve Patterson was quoted as saying:
"We’ve been playing a couple of the new [songs] live for a while. One’s called “Sea of Rum.” The other one doesn’t have a name yet. They’re not too much of a departure from the Fort Nightly stuff. There’s some dark elements and some calypso elements to it. I think they’re both more mature and developed."
White Rabbits have got two last shows posted and are finishing up a tour with The Walkmen.
Feb. 16 - 8:00 p.m. at the BAM Cafe (free show), Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mar. 3 - 8:00 p.m. at Webster Hall with The Walkmen for $20, New York, N.Y.
