Two New, Unrelated, but Great Songs

Somewhere in the list of most anticipated releases of the year lies both Gnarls Barkley's The Odd Couple and Annie's currently untitled album. Luckily for me and now you, we get a peak at both of those today.

Gnarls gave us the first peak of their April album back in January with the single "Run." Now ?uestlove is giving us "Who's Going to Save My Soul" via YouTube. ?uest says:

"The second single from the highly anticipated The Odd Couple sophomore effort has moved our hero ?uesto so much he begged and begged and begged Sir Mouse could he leak it first on the net." He goes on about the upcoming album, saying it's "a very dense dark atmospheric moody templet just dramatic enough for the last great living and WORKING soul singer under 40 and the most creative and intuitive producer maniac music has seen in a sec."

High praises, but I'd be hard pressed to tell you that this album may not live up to the hype. So I won't. Just check out the song above.

Not to bury Annie in this post, I will also suggest you head over to the Norwegian's MySpace for the first song to be heard off her newest album. 2005's Anniemal may be the most fun pop had that year and here's to hoping her next effort is no different. You can listen to "Girlfriend" now as you await the Island Records release, which is slated for April also.
